School workshops

5-7 year old workshop

Explore what life is like for the entire space crew of scientists, engineers, trainers and astronauts with a space-filled school workshop for 5-7 year olds. From launching rockets, docking at the International Space Station and tackling emergency challenges, this show offers fantastic insight and learnings into what it takes to undertake a space mission.

Workshop activities include: learning about roles in space crew, rocket launches, space suit materials, daily life for astronauts on the International Space centre.

7-11 year old workshop

Space exploration requires a whole field of experts including scientists, trainers, engineers and astronauts. Aimed at 7-11 year olds, this workshop ‘recruits’ and ‘trains’ the next generation of space explorers. Packed with experiments, investigations and problem-solving activities linked back to human space flight young crew members will leave inspired.

Workshop activities include: learning about roles in space crew, rocket launches, daily life for astronauts on the International Space centre, resistance training, disorientation training, effects of vacuums on liquid, use of robotics and problem solving with simulation mission activities.

11-14 year old workshop

Mission training for wannabe Destination Space crew members. Aimed at 11-14 year olds, this workshop provides hands-on space training exploring the skills needed to become a member of the Destination Space crew. Whether you want to be a space scientist, astronaut trainer, mission controller or astronaut, you’ll love the workshop.

Workshop activities include: learning about careers in space, rocket launches and Newton’s laws, daily life for astronauts on the International Space centre including resistance and disorientation training, use of robotics and problem solving with simulation mission activities.
